Terms & Conditions
For purpose of this document Center Stage School of Dance will hereafter be referred to as Center Stage.
Please take your time to read the following terms and conditions. It is very important that you understand these terms & conditions before registering for our classes either in person at classes or via online registration.
1. JOINING CENTER STAGE SCHOOL OF DANCE
The registration form must be completed in order to participate in any Center Stage classes and the form acts as your contract with us. This form should be completed by at least 1 parent or guardian.
A - Any medical condition and/or allergies should be disclosed to Center Stage in order for us to provide support and make any required adjustments/considerations.
B - Our main communication is via Email. It is your responsibility to ensure that we have accurate email addresses. Reminders and copies of general emails, e.g. newsletters will also be shared in private parents group on Facebook.
C- By signing this registration you are agreeing to Center Stage contacting you via email for newsletters, class announcements, reminders, timetables and general emails.
D - By signing this registration you are agreeing to your data being held on an electronic database, in a contacts database on password protected iPad and paper copies of registration forms will be destroyed once details stored in our electronic database.
E - Attendance at alternative dance schools for other styles or similar styles should be disclosed to principal teacher to avoid any confusion over exam or competition eligibilities.
2. CENTER STAGE FEES
A- The Center Stage dance year runs from August to June , yearly range of 37-40 weeks per year. The number of weeks is dependant on the educational term. Our class fees are payable via subscription payments made monthly on 1st of the month via the Class4kids platform. Further details are outlined below.
B- Monthly payment via Class4kids site runs from September to August. The SO fee is calculated by child’s class fee(s) multiplied by number of classes in year divided by 12. Please note that this payment is calculated on a pro-rata basis and will be applicable all year round.
C - Regular classes are subject to multi class discount, i.e if one pupil participates in 2 regular classes per week then the 2nd class is offered at a reduced rate (just over 40% off) if payments are made monthly. PAYG classes will be offered at the discounted rate provided payment is made prior to beginning of any extra class (e.g. additional attendance for exam or show prep). Please note Acro classes are not included in this discount due to enhanced insurance requirements.
D- Missed payments - we will contact you to advise of any missed payments. Please note a late payment fee of £10 may be applicable if fees are not paid following the 3 attempts made by Class4kids. We understand that there can be exceptional circumstances and would ask you to approach us directly, any information will be treated in strictest confidence.
3- ATTENDANCE
All pupils attending Center Stage are expected to show excellent attendance. Please advise Natalie of any absences wherever possible in advance (text, email or PM to Center Stage Facebook page is acceptable). Failure to commit to regular attendance may result in your child being unable to participate in performances, competitions or examinations.
4- CANCELLATIONS/WITHDRAWAL FROM CLASSES
A -Should you decide to withdraw your child from any class we ask that we are notified in writing (email or PM to Center Stage Facebook page only is acceptable) of their withdrawal. Please note those paying via monthly subscription are subject to 1 month further fees due to fees being averaged out over full dance year.
B- If your child withdraws from the school within 4 weeks of a show then full costume fees will be payable and should be made at your earliest convenience.
C - If your child withdraws from classes within 4 weeks of an examination that you have committed their participation to, the full exam fee per individual style will be payable at your earliest convenience to cover administrative costs of amendments. Examination terms are covered in more detail in Section 6 of this document.
D- EXCLUSIONS
1. Necessary discipline is vital in our classes and we reserve the right to terminate a pupil’s registration without notice should a pupil or parent engage in abusive or disruptive behaviour. Please note we speak to all pupils and parents respectfully and courteously and therefore expect the same in return.
2. Non-payment of fees as detailed in Section 2 can result in your child being unable to attend any Center Stage classes until the outstanding balance is settled.
3. We do not offer refunds for missed classes due to holidays, illness or accidents. Pupils are welcome to attend their class in an alternate venue at no additional cost in this case.
4. If classes are cancelled by Center Stage due an act of God i.e poor weather conditions, building damages or in case of genuine emergency then no refunds will be offered but every effort will be made to schedule a make-up class in their venue. If this isn’t possible pupils are invited to attend a make-up class for their level at an alternate venue on another date at no additional cost.
5. USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS
Videos and photos may be taken during class times and performances and by signing these terms & conditions you are agreeing to the use of your child’s image being used in promotional and marketing materials including all social media platforms. Please note your child’s name would never be used in promotional or marketing materials.
6. EXAMINATIONS
A - BATD examinations are not compulsory but are strongly recommended from P1 upwards. If your child is undertaking exams then additional fees for the exam will be required, additional class attendance and tuition fees and on occasion additional uniform items & costs will be applicable .
B - Pupils who opt out of exams must inform us in writing (email only) within 2 weeks of receiving written notification (email) of exam preparation being undertaken within the regular classes. Unless advised by the teaching team then all pupils of P1 and above are considered by Center Stage to be participating in the exams unless notified via the above method.
C - Failure to inform us of withdrawal from exams up to 4 weeks prior to scheduled examination date as detailed in section 6B will result in 50% of the exam fee being payable to Center Stage. If any pupil withdraws in the final 4 weeks prior to exams the full examination fee will be due.
D - Center Stage reserve the right to withdraw any pupil from an exam up to and including the last class prior to examination date if the teaching team feel the pupil isn’t fully prepared or ready to enter this level. In this instance a 50% refund of the exam fees will be made to you.
E - Considerations to alter the above terms in favour of the pupil/parent will be made at our discretion in exceptional circumstances
7. SHOWS
A- Participation in our annual dance displays held in the Village Theatre, East Kilbride every February, is compulsory for all pupils in all classes except in the instance where a student’s individual circumstances would be considered by Center Stage. Non-participation in shows is at our discretion. Please note exceptions may apply and will always be properly considered.
B- Our show is usually always the first complete calendar week in February each year however this should not be considered official until issue of our show information each September.
C- Please note Costume Deposits are non-refundable and any refunds of additional payments may be only be made at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.
D- When purchasing tickets for the shows, payment is required in advance and no refunds will be offered.
8. GENERAL
A- UNIFORM: Center Stage has a required class uniform which is detailed in your welcome pack. Pupils are asked to wear appropriate uniform at all times. New pupils will have a settling-in period of up to 6 weeks before being required to purchase the necessary uniform items. Hair should always be tied back away from face at all times during classes. When attending external events, performances and annual dance displays the school t-shirt or vest top must be worn by all pupils unless otherwise notified in writing.
B- Center Stage reserve the right to amend timetable, venues and fees at any time however where applicable adequate written notice will be given.
C- Center Stage may introduce additional regulations or make amendments to existing terms & conditions. Any additions or revisions will be advised in writing. A copy of our existing terms & conditions will be saved to files on our private parents group on Facebook at all times.
D- Necessary discipline will be enforced and we reserve the right to terminate any pupil’s enrolment without prior notice or refunds. We expect all pupils and parents to respect one another, our teaching team and our volunteers at all times. Bullying and abusive language will not be tolerated and could lead to termination of the pupil’s place within Center Stage. In this circumstance no refunds will be offered.
E - It is essential for the efficient training and teaching of dance and acro for a degree of physical contact to take place. By signing this registration form the parent or guardian accepts this provision.
F - No pupils aged 11 or under will be allowed to leave any of our venues unless accompanied by an appropriate adult without prior written consent (email or text message acceptable) from the parent or guardian.
G- ELECTRONIC DEVICES - Please note tablets, handheld games consoles and iPads are not permitted in any class at any time. Mobile phones are permitted however we ask that they are on silent and in the case of emergency please contact the teacher or venue directly.
9. LIABILTIES
A- Center Stage do not accept responsibility for loss, damages, injury arising from errors or omissions on the registration form whether completed by you or a person nominated by you at the time of enrolment.
B- Center Stage do not accept liability for death or personal injury to any pupil attending class, with the exception of the injury being caused by negligence or default of any of our team or any other default on our part.
C- Center Stage do not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to any personal property.
D - Center Stage are only responsible for pupils whilst they are participating in classes. Pupils cannot be supervised whilst outside the dance hall including the reception, foyer or waiting areas.
E - Center Stage holds current Public Liability insurance.
F - Center Stage hire venues from third parties therefore all Center Stage teaching team, pupils and parents must comply with those third parties’ codes of conduct.
STATEMENT
I accept these terms and agree that my attendance and continued payment of classes acts as acceptance of these terms and conditions stated above. I understand it is my responsibility to review terms and conditions regularly as they may change
